{"id":76,"date":"2006-09-19T14:48:27","date_gmt":"2006-09-19T21:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rhinoblues.com\/thoughts-wp\/?p=76"},"modified":"2006-09-19T14:48:27","modified_gmt":"2006-09-19T21:48:27","slug":"politics-and-religion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rhinoblues.com\/thoughts\/2006\/09\/politics-and-religion\/","title":{"rendered":"Politics and Religion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I knew a little about this back in 2004 when it first came up, on Crooks and Lairs today there is a piece about the IRS investigation of All Saint&#8217;s Episcopal Church in Pasadena, CA.&nbsp; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crooksandliars.com\/2006\/09\/19\/why-doesnt-the-irs-investigate-james-dobson\/\">Why Doesn&#8217;t the IRS Investigate James Dobson?<\/a>&nbsp; Basically a former rector of the parish delivered an anti-war sermon a couple of days before the 2004 elections.&nbsp; Not long after that the IRS came knocking threating to revoke the parish&#8217;s tax exempt status.&nbsp; The reason: The Rev.
